love spin

I am not quite sure what to make of the letter below combining the 2006 false confession to JonBenet's murder within a tongue-in-cheek publicity stunt option and ultimately, a challenge to Courtney Love. Not that the author's intent to spotlight bad actors and poorly executed PR moves has gone unnoticed. Neither did all the traffic past our house in search of Kurt Cobain's one time residence just down the street, but that is fodder for another post.

The reason for Love making news lately has to do with a child custody issue. As Sherrie Gulmahamad over at Twirlit asked "is this yet another story the media should ignore because it involves private family dynamics, or does Love’s status as a provocateur render that right null and void?"

And I will add to that: When does a parent's status as a provacateur render a minor's right to privacy null and void?--

There was no evidence that he’d ever been anywhere near JonBenet, but everybody believed him for a hot second because he was a creepy weirdo. Your story is way more plausible than that guy’s.

...Even OJ wasn’t quite able to pull off a fake murder confession, and he actually killed people. This may be the mother of all PR stunts, but fortunately no one is better at self-aggrandizing publicity stunts than you. Of course, there is another, slightly less drastic, option. You could release a good album..." [...read more]
