Forensic Accounting

A judge just recently branded Gene Morrison an "inveterate and compulsive liar" and will shortly sentence him for the various rapes of which he was recently convicted. His thirty year career as a rapist is now over, we hope. Its a bit late for all those young girls that he attacked. His prime age range for victims appears to have been girls who were aged ten to sixteen.

His prior courtroom testimony seems a bit strange. He admited to having punched a woman but claimed in court that it was a non-violent act. He also described as non-violent his having repeatedly struck a woman with his belt.

Although the jury that convicted him of the rape offenses was not informed of what he did for a living, it should be noted that he had spent twenty-six years as a forensic scientist. He had given court-room testimony in well over seven hundred cases. His forensic career is particularly noteworthy since he was a high school dropout whose various degrees were sham certificates from a non-existent university. It appears that he was able to have spent twenty six years as a forensic expert without ever having once taken a single solitary science course. A preliminary estimate of his income indicates that the Scottish authorities paid him over a quarter-million pounds for his "expert" testimony. His office records are in such disarray that it was not possible to prepare an estimate of how much he had raked in from his private forensic consulting service.

Forensic accounting? Yes. I think the forensic scientists need to be held to account! So do the judges and solicitors who allowed this shameful travesty to persist for twenty-six years. How many innocent people were railroaded based on his so-called expertise? How many police interrogations were sullied by police reliance upon his findings?
