On Tuesday in Littleton 32-year-old Bruco Strongeagle Eastwood opened fire on Deer Creek Middle School students with a high-powered hunting rifle. Two students were wounded before math teacher Dr. David Benke tackled, disarmed and with the help of Steve Potter, subdued Eastwood until police arrived.

"Dr. Benke was out there at the time the school was being let out. It looked to me like he heard the shot and decided to react accordingly," said Potter.

Just down the street from Columbine High School and several years before that tragedy, in 1982 Deer Creek Middle School student Jason Rocha shot and killed a 13 year old classmate, Scott Michael Darwin - -
