pageant bashing


Since the media frenzy after the 1996 death of JonBenet Ramsey I am pretty sure there have been several opinions from beauty pageant participants that those activates probably had little, if anything, to do with the murder. Based on the close knit, family oriented generally very small group settings it would be challenging for some creep to be stalking any one of the girls without being noticed by one of the attentive pageant moms. Not saying that didn't happen; the unknown Caucasian male that deposited his DNA in multiple locations on the body has yet to be identified. But only associating JonBenet's killer to pageants is just not any more likely than any other of the many activities the Ramsey's enjoyed as a family - -

"Hello Hello,

In my last post I started to talk about how child pageant bashing began. I personally feel that this part of the topic needs to be handled with great care since I will be talking about the death of a child...people in the media started speculating on a motive for her murder and they found out she was a beauty queen.

People just assume that some random guy was following her around from a pageant and killed her. Worst of all, since our outfits are different from ballet, tap or whatever the public started to think that her mother focussed her into pageants and started to assume that her parents killed her.

I really don’t understand how people could have come to that conclusion. First of all, the outfits in ballet, cheerleading, gymnastics are just as reliving and we were just as much make-up as they do. Heck, in cheerleading you have little girls jumping around in short skirts wearing very heavy make-up.
